Twin giant panda cubs are growing healthily at Ueno Zoo!

Oct. 2021

On June 23rd, male and female twin giant pandas were born at the Ueno Zoo. It has been 4 years since the giant panda, Xiang Xiang, was born in 2017. Ueno Zoo invited the public to submit names for the cubs and Xiao Xiao for the male and Lei Lei for the female was chosen. They are not opened to the public yet, however, their growing can be seen in the official giant panda site of the Ueno Zoo, UENO-PANDA.JP.  Now, visitors are able to see their older sister, Xiang Xiang at the Panda House in the East Garden and their father, Ri Ri in the Panda Forest in the West Garden at the Zoo. Twin cubs will be showed to the public in January 2022. So don’t miss it! We can’t keep our eyes off of movements of the giant pandas full of attraction.
